The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Emir of Ngazargamu in Yobe State, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Tijjani Ahmed Ibn-Saleh.

A statement signed by the DG press affairs Gombe State government house Ismailia Uba Mislli said the monarch passed away in Cairo, Egypt, following a prolonged illness and was buried today, Friday in Yobe State.

In a condolence message, Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the late Emir as a respected traditional ruler, a symbol of peace, unity and progress, whose reign was marked by wisdom, humility and commitment to the welfare of his people.

The Governor said the late royal father devoted his life to promoting harmony, social development and education, which he strongly believed was the foundation for societal advancement and lasting prosperity.

“His Royal Highness lived an exemplary life defined by honour, selfless service and commitment to humanity. He was a bridge-builder and a father figure whose leadership inspired peace and unity among his people,” Governor Inuwa Yahaya stated.

He noted that Nigerians have a lot to learn from the life and legacy of the late monarch, whose enduring contributions to community development and peaceful coexistence will remain unforgettable.

The NSGF Chairman extended his heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, the Ngazargamu Emirate Council, the royal family and the entire people of Yobe State over the painful loss.

He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased monarch, reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus, and grant his family, the Emirate and the people of Yobe State the strength to bear the immense loss.
