The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has noted a message circulating on social media alleging that a man armed with a machete has been attacking and robbing residents around Osongama and Four Lanes in Uyo.
A statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Timfon John said the Command urges anyone who may have been attacked or robbed in connection with the allegation to visit the nearest Police Station and make a formal report. Victims are encouraged to provide relevant details, including the date, time and location of the incident, description of the suspect, items allegedly taken, and any available evidence.

Such reports will assist the Police in investigating the allegations, establishing the facts, and identifying and tracing the suspect. Members of the public who have credible information that may assist the investigation are equally encouraged to contact the Police.
Residents are advised to remain calm, avoid confronting anyone suspected of carrying a weapon, and promptly report suspicious activities to the Police. The public is also urged to refrain from circulating unverified information capable of causing unnecessary fear or panic.
