The Renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Shehi Shehi Maihula, alongside several prominent religious leaders, has formally endorsed Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsements were announced during an all-night series of visits by the Governor to eight Maulud lectures organized in Metropolitan of Kano State to commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
This was contained in a press statement issued by Mustapha Muhammad, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tuesday.
The delegation’s first stop was at the Zawiyya of Sheikh Sharif Sani, where Governor Yusuf highlighted his administration’s completed and ongoing people-oriented infrastructure projects.
Visibly impressed, Sheikh Sharif Sani offered prayers for the Governor’s successful reelection so that his development agenda may continue.
During a visit to the headquarters of the Qadiriyya movement in Africa at Kabara, the leader, Sheikh Malam Karibullah Nasiru Kabara, pledged continued prayers for peaceful elections and the Governor’s reelection in 2027.
At the Zawiyya of Sheikh Shehi Maihula who also serves as the Chairman of the Kano State Hisbah Board the cleric announced his endorsement of the Governor’s second-term bid.
The Governor’s delegation also visited Zawiyya of Sheikh Shehi Aliyu Harazimi, where Khalifa Shehi Aliyu Harazimi offered prayers for the administration’s success.
Madrasa of Dr. Adamu Kamaluddeen Adamu na Maaji (Alfindiki), where the cleric praised the ongoing development projects and bestowed his blessings on the administration.
Zawiyya of Sheikh Yanmota and Zawiyya of Sheikh Salga, where prayers were offered for the continued progress of the state.
Zawiyya of Sheikh Atiku, the final stop of the tour, where the Khalifa formally endorsed the Governor and Deputy Governor while committing to ongoing prayers for their 2027 reelection bid.
In parallel, similar Maulud visits were conducted across the state by delegations led by the Deputy Governor and the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore.
The Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and His entourage happily returned to government house around 7:00am.
