The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has urged Muslims in the state to intensify prayers for an end to insecurity while celebrating Takutaha, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Gwarzo, in a goodwill message issued by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, on Tuesday, congratulated the Muslim Ummah across Kano State on the annual Takutaha celebration, describing it as an important occasion that commemorates the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the month of Rabi’ul Awwal.

He said Takutaha should serve as an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on the life, teachings and exemplary character of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly his emphasis on peace, compassion, justice, unity and peaceful coexistence.

Gwarzo, popularly known as Jagoran Amana called on Muslims to use the occasion to renew their faith, strengthen bonds of brotherhood and promote tolerance and understanding among the people.

He also urged the Muslim community to intensify prayers for communities affected by insecurity, particularly areas bordering some local government areas of the state, stressing the need for collective efforts and continued prayers for lasting peace.

The NDC governorship candidate called on the people of Kano to uphold the values of love, justice, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect, which he said remained central to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

He prayed for peace, prosperity and divine blessings for Kano State and Nigeria, while urging Muslims to continue praying for the stability and progress of the country.

Gwarzo further assured the people of Kano of his commitment to promoting good governance, accountability, unity and sustainable development if elected governor of the state in 2027.

“On behalf of my family and political associates, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Ummah in Kano State on the occasion of Takutaha.

“May this celebration strengthen our faith, deepen our love for the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and inspire us to live by the virtues of peace, compassion, justice and service to humanity,” Gwarzo said.
