At an important and milestone event yesterday,the chairman of Zaria local government Eng Jamil Mohammad jaga has played as Chief Host at the commissioning of a well-equipped modern slaughterhouse in Zaria Local Government Area, alongside the empowerment of over 250 butchers with cows and rams, as well as the presentation of three brand-new mini trucks to support their businesses.
This impactful intervention was facilitated by the Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen GCON.
The event brought together distinguished personalities, community leaders, stakeholders, and members of the public, all united in witnessing another milestone in our collective drive for development and economic empowerment in Zaria.
Speaking as Chief host,Eng Jamil Jaga spoke on behalf of the good people of Zaria, sincerely appreciating the Honourable Speaker for his consistent support and commitment to improving livelihoods and strengthening local businesses.
Following the commissioning, we proceeded to Dambo Ward for an inspection visit to the proposed site of the Agro-Industrial Zone, a transformational project designed to reshape the future of agriculture and trade in Zaria.
The Agro-Industrial Zone will host key facilities including an ultra-modern abattoir, an international livestock market, a world-class grains market, and a leather processing and tannery complex.
This integrated value-chain project is aimed at revolutionizing food production, processing, storage, and marketing across Zaria and beyond.
When completed, this project will generate thousands of jobs, empower our youth and women in agribusiness, reduce post-harvest losses, increase farmers’ income, strengthen food security, and attract major investors into our local economy. It will also improve infrastructure and position Zaria as a major agro-industrial hub in Northern Nigeria.
