    SSCQE 2026 KICKS OFF IN JAJI AS 274 CANDIDATES SIT FOR QUALIFYING EXAM

    TRADOC NA Commander Charges Directing Staff and Candidates on Integrity, Standards

    The Commander, Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), and President of the Examination for the Senior Staff Course Qualifying Examination (SSCQE) 2026, Major General Peter Malla, has charged the 274 candidates sitting for this year’s examination to exhibit confidence, remain focused and maintain high standards of integrity.

    A statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Felicia Daniel Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army said Major General Malla gave the charge on Sunday, 9 August 2026 during an address to Directing Staff and Candidates at the Ihejirika Auditorium, Jaji Military Cantonment, Kaduna State.

    He stated that with the ongoing transformation in the Nigerian Army by the Chief of Army Staff, especially in the area of professional military education, he expects nothing short of a 100 percent pass rate in the examination. He reminded the candidates that the SSCQE is crucial to their career progression and is a critical requirement for attending the Senior Command and Staff Course.

    The Examination President explained that the week-long exercise is conducted within the current syllabus as approved by the Nigerian Army with emphasis on subjects that can enhance military leadership amongst the candidates.

    Major General Peter Malla charged all the members of Directing Staff to be very objective and professional in their assessments while abiding strictly to the rules and regulations governing the SSCQE. Similarly, he strongly urged the candidates to demonstrate high level of discipline and integrity guided by the core values of the Nigerian Army. He also assured the candidates of objective, transparent and highly accountable system of assessment while encouraging them to put in their best.

     

    He warned that any form of malpractice will attract disqualification and possible prosecution in line with extant provisions of the Nigerian Army Charter for Promotion Examinations (Revised) 2022 and the Armed Forces Act, CAP A20, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

    The Examination President announced that the Chief of Army Staff will sustain the practice of issuing Certificates of Excellence, Letters of Commendations and cash gifts to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best overall candidates. Best performers in each subject will also be rewarded. This action is in accordance with the tenets of the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy of rewarding excellence while sanctioning incompetence.

    Delivering the welcome address, the Commander, Infantry Corps, Major General Godwin Mutkut, welcomed the candidates to Jaji and assured that all arrangements have been made for a smooth 5-day exercise.

    The event was attended by senior officers from Army Headquarters and formations across the Nigerian Army where the Examination President appreciated the Chief of Army Staff for his continuous and timely support to all activities of TRADOC NA. The èvent concluded with group photographs.
