Osun state governor senator Ademola Adeleke and the candidate of the Accord in the just concluded Osun 2026 governorship election has been declared winner by the Independent national electoral commission, INEC.
Governor Adeleke polled a total of 511067 votes to defeat his close rival, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Mr Bola Oyebamji who pooled 444815 votes
The local governments won by governor Adeleke are :Ede- North, Ejigbo, Iwo, Egbedore, Boluwaduro, , Ede- South, Ife- North, Ilesa -West, , Ife -East, Ife- Central, Oriade , Ifelodun ,Orolu , Ayedaade, Ila, ,.Odo -otin,. ifedayo, osogbo and Ayedire local government.areas.
APC candidate, mr Bola Oyebamji.won in Irewole, Isokan, Olorunda, Atakumosa East,. atakumosa.west, Ilesa East, Boripe, irepodun and Obokun local governments.
The candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Dr Najeem Salam came third with 17180 votes.
The results from all the 30 local government areas in the state had earlier been declared by coalition officers for each local government before the final declaration was made by the returning officer, Professor Joshua Ogunwole of the federal university, Oye Ekiti.
