The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, has concluded his international engagements and returned to Nigeria after a series of academic and diplomatic engagements in the United Kingdom.
A statement signed by Sani Lawal Maqarphy media aide to the VC said during the engagements, Prof. Bunkure participated in exhibitions and conference sessions, visited universities and held discussions aimed at exploring opportunities for academic collaborations and exposure to global best practices in higher education.
The Vice-Chancellor also visited the Nigerian High Commission in London, where he, alongside the Pro-Chancellor of the University, Ambassador Baba Ahmad Jidda, OFR, had dinner with the Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Amb. Aminu Dalhatu, and congratulated him on his appointment. They also paid a visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR.
In a letter dated 28th July, 2026, Ambassador Dalhatu expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for the goodwill and congratulatory message,while assuring the advancement of bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, particularly in education and culture.
Following the conclusion of his engagements in the UK, Prof. Bunkure performed the lesser Hajj (Umrah) before returning to Nigeria, where he arrived at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, and was received by his Secretary/Chief of Staff, Mal. Sani Ibrahim Wambai, and his Personal Assistant, Mal. Abubakar Sani Adda’u.
