    ZARIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT HOSTS NLC STATE SENSITIZATION TOUR.

    Zaria Local Government Council today warmly welcomed the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kaduna State Council, alongside its affiliated unions, on the occasion of the NLC Kaduna State Sensitization Tour to Zaria Local Government Area.

    A statement signed by the chief press secretary to the ChairmanGaladima Ishaq said the event, which took place at the Zaria Local Government Secretariat, brought together labour leaders, government officials, traditional institution stakeholders, and union executives to deliberate on workers’ welfare, industrial harmony, labour relations, and other issues aimed at strengthening collaboration between organised labour and local government administration.

    The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), who was unavoidably absent due to an official engagement outside Kaduna State, was ably represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Gwani Abdullahi Abubakar Abba Zaria. 

    Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, the Vice Chairman reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to maintaining the cordial and mutually beneficial relationship that exists between the Zaria Local Government Council and organised labour. He assured workers of the Council’s continued commitment to their welfare, constructive engagement, and the promotion of industrial harmony for improved service delivery.

    He appreciated the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kaduna State Council for including Zaria in the statewide sensitization tour and commended the various labour unions for their cooperation, dedication, and contributions towards effective local government administration.

    In their separate remarks, leaders of the various unions under the umbrella of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kaduna State Council, commended the Executive Chairman, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), for the cordial working relationship, support, and welfare initiatives his administration has continued to extend to workers in Zaria Local Government.

    They also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani , CON, for sustaining a harmonious relationship with organised labour across the State and for the support and welfare programmes being enjoyed by workers under his administration.

    The sensitization tour was led by the Kaduna State NLC Chairperson, Comr. Ayuba Magaji Suleiman, and provided an opportunity to engage workers on key labour-related issues, promote industrial harmony, strengthen unity among affiliate unions, and deepen collaboration between organised labour and government.

    The state delegation comprised Hon. Adamu Samaila, Special Adviser on Labour Matters; Comr. Ayuba Magaji Suleiman, NLC State Chairperson; Comr. Ibrahim Dalhatu, NUT State Chairman; Comr. Rayyanu Isiyaku Turunku, NULGE State President; Comr. Umar Ibrahim Fatika, MHWUN State Chairman; Comr. Ishiyaku Yakubu, NANNM State Chairman; Comr. Auwal Sarki, JUSUN State Chairman; Comr. Abdurashid Abarshi, PASAN State Chairman; Comr. Yashi G. Nasaa, NANNM State PRO; Comr. Christopher Kasuwa, NULGE State Deputy President; and Comr. Dantani Mohd, NLC Media Officer .

    Also in attendance were the executives of the various unions operating in Zaria Local Government, stakeholders from the traditional institution within the Local Government Area, the Director of Administration and Finance (DAF), the Council Treasurer, Heads of Departments and Units, as well as other senior officials of the Council.

    Zaria Local Government Council remains committed to strengthening its partnership with organised labour through continuous dialogue, mutual respect, and policies that promote workers’ welfare, enhance productivity, improve service delivery, and advance sustainable grassroots governance.
