President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday night received former Sokoto State governorship candidate, Mallam Sa’idu Umar Ubandoma, at the Presidential Villa, Asokoro, Abuja.
This was contained in a statement signed by Bashar Abubakar SA Media and Publicity, to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko Sarkin Yamman Sokoto made available to newsmen.
It said Ubandoma was presented to the President by the Leader of the APC in Sokoto State, Senator Dr. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, following his recent return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
President Tinubu expressed delight over Ubandoma’s return to the party and assured him of his support and full integration into the APC.
The meeting was described as cordial and productive, with discussions centred on strengthening the party and consolidating its progress.
President Tinubu also encouraged Ubandoma to sustain his close working relationship with Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and the Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.
It will be recalled that Mallam Sa’idu Umar, a former Commissioner for Finance, former Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, and the 2023 PDP governorship candidate in Sokoto State, officially defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the APC earlier this week.
