The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Mal. Maccido Mohammed of Unguwan Kaura, Zaria City, who died at the age of 97, as well as the entire Zaria community and Kaduna State at large, over his passing.
A statement signed by Ishaq Galadima Chief press secretary office of the chairman said that late Mal. Maccido Mohammed was a distinguished statesman and community leader who served as the Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly from 1979 to 1983, during the administration of the late President Shehu Shagari.
The Nonagenarian also served the nation and Kaduna State in various political appointments at both the state and federal levels.
In a condolence message, Chairman Jaga described the deceased as a respected elder and an accomplished public servant whose contributions to political development and public service would remain part of the history of Zaria and Kaduna State.
He said the death of Mal. Maccido Mohammed is a great loss to his family, the Zaria community, and the state at large, particularly at a time when the wisdom and experience of elders remain invaluable to society.
The Chairman prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, friends, and the entire community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
