The Christian Community Forum of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, has congratulated the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Yahaya Isa Bunkure, on his first anniversary in office as Vice-Chancellor of the University.
A statement signed by the Sani Lawal Maqarphy media aide to the VC said the Forum paid a congratulatory visit to the Vice-Chancellor on Friday, October 9, 2026, led by its Chairman, Prof Tunde Adeshina, alongside the Secretary, Mrs. Comfort L. Daudu; Mrs. Josephine Sule; Prof Onu David; and other members of the Community.

Speaking during the visit, Prof Adeshina explained that the delegation was at the Vice-Chancellor’s office to celebrate with him on the milestone, commending his leadership and developmental efforts during his first year in office.
The Chairman described the period as one characterised by sustainability and enduring development, noting that the initiatives undertaken had laid a solid foundation for the growth and future advancement of the nascent institution.
He assured the Vice-Chancellor of the Christian Community’s continued support and cooperation towards the University’s progress and development.
In his response, Prof. Bunkure expressed sincere appreciation to the Christian Community for the visit, goodwill, prayers, and support. He acknowledged that the successes recorded by the University would not have been possible without the understanding, cooperation, and collective commitment of members of the University Community.
The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the Governing Council and Management, thanked the Community for its show of solidarity and reaffirmed commitment to the University’s continued growth. He also expressed optimism about forthcoming developmental initiatives aimed at strengthening the institution and advancing its objectives.
Prof. Bunkure further emphasised the importance of unity, mutual understanding, and cooperation among members of the University Community. He encouraged the Christian Community to continue working together harmoniously, irrespective of differences in background, in the collective interest of the institution.
He was presented with a congratulatory card to the, bearing goodwill messages and prayers for continued success in his leadership.
The Vice-Chancellor was assisted while receiving the gift by the Registrar, Shehu Iya Sa’idu; Bursar, Muhammad Kabiru Aliyu; Ag. Director of Procurement, Engr. Abdullahi Maiwada; and his Secretary/COS, Sani Ibrahim Wambai.
