Speaking during the visit, Brigadier General Onasanya noted the importance of fostering strong relationships with key institutions within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibility. He emphasised that the welfare of personnel remains an important component of effective military service, particularly for troops whose duties often demand physical resilience, mental strength and personal sacrifice.
The relationship with AMCE is therefore expected to provide a stronger platform for healthcare collaboration, medical referrals and access to specialised medical expertise for personnel and, where applicable, their families. Such collaboration is particularly significant in ensuring that soldiers and officers receive timely and quality medical attention, thereby enhancing their chances of recovery and sustaining their capacity to serve.
Beyond the uniforms, ranks and responsibilities, the partnership represents something much more fundamental; the preservation of lives. Every soldier who receives prompt and appropriate medical care is a life protected, a family sustained and a valuable member of the nation’s security architecture kept in the line of duty.
The courtesy visit also provided an opportunity for both institutions to explore avenues for deeper engagement and mutually beneficial cooperation in the interest of healthcare delivery and the wellbeing of military personnel.

For the Brigade, the partnership with AMCE is ultimately about ensuring that those who stand in defence of the nation have a strong medical institution standing with them when they need it most.
