A delegation from the Council of Imams (Zawiyya Branch), led by the respected Islamic scholar, Khalifa Ibrahim Sheik Balarabe, paid a condolence visit to the Zamfara State Police Command Headquarters in Gusau following the recent tragic bomb attack that claimed the lives of police officers in the line of duty.

The delegation visited the Command to commiserate with its leadership and the families of the deceased officers. They were received by the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, psc+, mnips, alongside members of the Command’s management team.

A statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Yazid Abubakar said during the visit, Khalifa Ibrahim Sheik Balarabe led the delegation in offering special prayers (Du’a) for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed officers. He strongly condemned the attack, describing the killing of innocent people as an act that is completely contrary to the teachings of Islam, which uphold peace, justice, brotherhood, and the sanctity of human life.

The Council of Imams expressed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families and encouraged them to remain steadfast in faith during this difficult period. The delegation also commended the officers and men of the Zamfara State Police Command for their sacrifices and dedication to protecting lives and property across the state.

Khalifa Ibrahim Sheik Balarabe further called on residents and religious institutions throughout Zamfara State to continue supporting security agencies by promoting peace, remaining vigilant, and promptly reporting suspicious activities within their communities.

In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, expressed profound appreciation to Khalifa Ibrahim Sheik Balarabe and members of the Council of Imams for their visit, prayers, and words of encouragement.

The Commissioner noted that the moral and spiritual support of religious leaders remains invaluable, particularly during moments of grief and national loss.

“The prayers and solidarity of our revered religious leaders strengthen our resolve and send a clear message that our communities stand united against violence and criminality. We remain committed to bringing those responsible for this heinous act to justice,” the CP stated.

He further assured the delegation that the Command is intensifying efforts to strengthen security across the state and enhance the protection of places of worship, markets, residential areas, and other public spaces.

The visit concluded with special prayers for the repose of the souls of the fallen officers and for lasting peace, security, and prosperity in Zamfara State and Nigeria as a whole.
