In a proactive effort to ensure peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebrations across Zamfara State, the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, Ahmad Muhammad Bello, psc+, Mnips convened a strategic security meeting with Area Commanders, Commanding Officers of 42 and 78 PMF, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and other senior officers of the Command.
A statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Yazid Abubakar said the meeting, held at the Command Headquarters, Gusau, focused on strengthening security arrangements before, during, and after the Eid festivities. The CP emphasized the need for adequate deployment of personnel, improved patrol operations, intelligence gathering, and effective supervision across all formations and divisions in the state.
CP Bello charged the officers to remain professional, vigilant, and committed to safeguarding lives and property throughout the festive period. He further directed all Area Commanders and DPOs to intensify visibility policing, enhance collaboration with other security agencies, and engage community stakeholders to ensure maximum public safety.
The Commissioner of Police warned against all forms of criminal activities, including thuggery, unlawful possession of offensive weapons, reckless riding, and other acts capable of disrupting public peace during the celebrations.
He equally reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order and urged members of the public to remain law-abiding and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
