    GOC 7 DIVISION COMMISSIONS KEY PROJECTS IN 24 TASK FORCE BRIGADE DIKWA, CHARGES TROOPS TO SUSTAIN PRESSURE ON INSURGENTS

    In a renewed effort to enhance operational effectiveness and strengthen the fight against Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Brigadier General Solomon Diwa, on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, commissioned key infrastructural projects at Headquarters 24 Task Force Brigade, Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State.

    Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Brigadier General Diwa commended the Commander, 24 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General Egbulem, for his visionary leadership, commitment to infrastructure development and proactive operational approach, which have contributed significantly to enhancing the Brigade’s operational capabilities in the ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency campaign in the North East.

    The Acting GOC charged officers and soldiers of the Brigade to sustain the ongoing pressure on insurgents and remain vigilant against any attempts by terrorists to attack military installations and other vulnerable civilian targets.

    He further noted that Brigadier General Sylvincent Egbulem had distinguished himself through exemplary leadership and dedication to duty, adding that the projects executed under his command would serve as a lasting legacy for future Brigade Commanders. The projects commissioned included remodelled Communication Centre / Operation room, revamped Field Ambulance and the 24 Brigade Headquaters Sinage.

    Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander, 24 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General Egbulem, stated that the commissioning of the projects underscore the Brigade’s commitment to enhancing operational effectiveness, strengthening command and control, and improving troop welfare.

    He explained that the newly commissioned Communication Centre/Operations Room was established to provide a more conducive environment for effective communication, coordination as well as command and control activities in support of the Brigade’s operational responsibilities.

    The Brigade Commander also disclosed that the Brigade’s Field Ambulance, which was previously in a dilapidated condition, had been completely reconstructed into a modern medical facility equipped to enhance emergency medical response, healthcare delivery and the operational readiness of troops.

    He added that the newly constructed Headquarters Signage provides a befitting gateway to the Brigade Headquarters while projecting professionalism, institutional pride and the identity of the formation.

    Brigadier General Egbulem expressed appreciation to the officers and soldiers of the Brigade for their loyalty, professionalism and unwavering dedication, attributing the successful execution of the projects to their collective commitment to duty.

    Highlights of the event included the commissioning and inspection of the projects, a group photograph and the presentation ofsouvenirs.
