The emergence of His Excellency, the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD CON, as the All Progressives Congress, APC, flag bearer for the 2027 general elections, is certainly not a surprise.
This victory is a clear endorsement of his performance and the trust the people of Katsina State have in his leadership.
The first three years of the administration have set clear pointers to why the governor deserves a second term.
The sustained investment in the security of lives and property, especially in the areas of community policing and effective collaboration with security agencies to restore peace across several frontline LGA’S, is certainly worthy of commendation.
There’s also a massive overhaul of the education sector through the renovation of schools, recruitment of teachers, and the declaration of a state of emergency in the sector to improve learning outcomes.
The general upgrading and equipping of Primary Healthcare Centres across the state under the Building Your Future platform as well as improving access to basic healthcare delivery services, has also set the governor a model to others in the country.
The administration has also, like no other, provided timely support to farmers through adequate purchase and supply of fertiliser at subsided rates to boost agriculture and ensure efficient food security. The Dikko Radda led administration has also given adequate attention to infrastructural development like roads construction, electrification projects, and urban renewal projects aimed at improving socio economic wellbeing of citizens.
Public sector reforms were also introduced and successfully implemented. There was the prompt payment of a backlog of entitlements and welfare reforms that have boosted morale of personnel in the public service.
These achievements, amongst others, reflect the administration’s vision of building a prosperous state.
It is our fervent prayers that Almighty Allah continues to guide His Excellency, grant him good health and wisdom, and lead him to a resounding success in 2027. May his second term consolidate these gains for the benefit of all citizens,ameeen.
