Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a retired career civil servant, community leader and former Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Abu Danmalam Karofi, popularly known as ADK and fondly called “Raya Karkaran Katsina.”

A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad, chief press secretary to the Governor, said Alhaji Abu Danmalam Karofi passed away today after a short illness.

Governor Radda described the deceased as a distinguished public servant who dedicated about 35 years to serving the people of the old Kaduna and Katsina States.

“Alhaji Abu Danmalam Karofi was a committed and experienced public servant whose contributions to the development of Katsina State, particularly in the area of grassroots administration, will continue to be remembered,” Governor Radda said.

The Governor recalled that Alhaji Abu Danmalam Karofi served as Permanent Secretary and Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to former Governor Umaru Musa Yar’adua.

He played a significant role in overseeing the affairs of the state’s 34 local government councils.

He also served as Head of the Inter-Ministerial Intervention Committee for the MAFITA Programme under former Governor Aminu Bello Masari and was actively involved in the United Union of Youth Association.

Governor Radda acknowledged his contributions to community development and public advocacy, particularly in promoting good governance, rural development and community wellbeing.

“His wealth of experience, wisdom and commitment to public service made him a respected figure among colleagues, community leaders and the people he served,” the Governor added.

On behalf of the Government and people of Katsina State, Governor Radda extended his condolences to the family, relatives, colleagues and associates of Alhaji Abu Danmalam Karofi.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
